Community-Based Mentoring Seminars Referring a Child to BBBS

Site-based programs enable Big Brother Big Sister volunteers to meet with their Little at a predetermined location in the school based on the needs of the child.

Meetings at school occur during the lunch period or during or after the school day for about an hour each week. Meetings are held in the cafeteria or gym, a classroom, library or computer lab. Matches engage in a variety of activities: recreational games, doing homework or simply talking about "what's happening."

Elementary and middle school students may visit with their mentor at school for one hour per week. They work on homework together, engage in recreational activities, or simply spend the time visiting.
