Big Brothers Big Sisters of McHenry County holds five major fundraisers each year. Our largest is Bowl for Kids’ Sake, which is held every March. This is a huge community event involving schools, residents, businesses, civic organizations and bowling leagues. In 2010 nearly 400 individuals bowled and raised $60,000 for our organization. The biggest blast of the year just got a lot more exciting! Our 8th annual Swing for Kids Sake will be held this year at a NEW and private venue. The event will take place at Bull Valley Golf Club in Woodstock on August 5, 2010. The event will include 18 holes of golf, a golf cart, silent auction, lunch donated by Lou Malnati’s in Lake In The Hills and dinner by Bonefish Grill in Algonquin. Our annual Truck Pull event was a tremendous accomplishment! A BIG thank you goes to our presenting sponsors Centegra Health Bridge, Sage Products, Star 105.5, and Buffalo Wild Wings for their ongoing support and generosity. Thank you to all of our sponsors, teams, and friends who came out and enjoyed a fun filled day at Centegra Health Bridge in Huntley. Our 1st place winning team enjoyed a party at Buffalo Wild Wings and a one month membership to Centegra Heath Bridge after pulling an 18-wheeler 75 feet in 12.38 seconds. Team Dundee Crown Graduates sponsored by Crystal Lake Chrysler Jeep and Dodge finished 1st place with an unbelievable pull time of 12.38 seconds, and Team Knaack finished 2nd with a strong pull of 13.99 seconds.
